北陸新幹線がついに小松に到着し、その日を記念し来場者を歓迎し、地元の人たちと一緒にお祝いする大規模なイベントが開催されました。GEMBAは3/16-17の2日間、小松のものづくり事業者の商品や小松のものづくりの歴史を紹介するブースを出店しました。

The Hokuriku Shinkansen has arrived in Komatsu, and to commemorate the day a large event was held welcoming visitors and celebrating with locals. As part of the festivities GEMBA opened a booth over two days 3/16-17 featuring objects made by Komatsu businesses and explaining the history of manufacturing in Komatsu.

また、宮創製陶所によるワークショップも開催され、九谷焼の招き猫に特殊なカラーペンで絵を描く体験を実施しました。特に多くのお子様が九谷焼に思いのデザインを描くことを楽しみ、この体験を通して小松の伝統的なものづくり文化の一端を学び、持ち帰ることができました。

There was also a workshop held by Miyasou in which participants could experience drawing onto Kutani-yaki Manenineko with special coloured pens that, after heating at home in an oven can glaze the Maneineko into beautiful colours. In particular many children enjoyed drawing their own special designs onto the Kutani-yaki and through this experience were able to learn and take home with them a piece of traditional Komatsu manufacturing culture.
